BUM Holds Fashion Show with Cosplay as Theme

Philippine Fashion clothing brand BUM brings the Cosplay fashion trend to the fore with a one-of-a-kind fashion show at the SM Mall of Asia. If you have a story to tell, don’t keep it to yourself. Flaunt and let the world know through fashion.

This has been the youth’s battle-cry these days. Not only are they daring, wearing their colors on their sleeves proudly, they are pushing the envelope when it comes to dressing up, as well. Even the term “costume play” or “cosplay”, which is the act of dressing up as a fictional character inspired from an anime TV series, or a character they idolized, has found its way into the youth’s wardrobe. Cosplay is no longer a style but it has become a “trend” that is normally seen and worn on the streets.

To underscore this “daring” and “experimental” style philosophy, BUM Equipment is putting together a fashion show on November 25 at the Music Hall of the Mall of Asia in Pasay City. Called Reveal Your Darkside, this fashion celebration is the culminating event of an ongoing nationwide contest. Since August 8, BUM has been receiving through its website (http://www.bumequipment.com.ph) countless entries from young stylistas who want to share the world their passion for the brand and the cosplay trend.

Interestingly, the fashion show will also showcase BUM’s new collection for the Holidays. So cosplay and BUM fanatics can expect a one-of-a-kind fashion event that would inspire them to express their angst, passion, and identity more freely through BUM Collections. Mall goers will enjoy BUM’s treats as early as 1pm with live games on screen. Shoppers can play live video games at the Music Hall venue and win fabulous prizes courtesy of our sponsors Netopia Internet Café and Ideal Vision. BUM Equipment Reveal Your Darkside with Cosplay Fashion

BUM Equipment recently invited us to be in their Bloggers night to share with us their exciting project on individuality, creativity and self expression in coordination with Cosplay fashion. It is now a growing style trend in the Philippines and used to be part of the Otaku culture. Cosplay Fashion is becoming a common sight in Philippine Fashion little by little. The latest BUM Equipment project was called “BUM Equipment Reveal your Darkside“.

 

The contest involves the My Story theme to show their individual interpretation of the Cosplay trend by using pieces from Bum. While interested participants are allowed to wear their take on their favorite anime characters, the total ensemble should have shades of Emo Rock and Goth — Bum's signature look, ensync with “MY STORY” Bum’s culminating chapter.

If you are interested to join the contest all you have to do is to portray a character make sure that BUM products (apparel) should be the core component of the costume. Costumes may be enhanced by Fashion accessories such as wigs, make-up, contact lenses, and other props. If they're feeling a little bit more creative, computer graphics may also be used in the photo layout to enhance the costume/character (with the BUM logo prominently seen in the photo).

  

Photos must be submitted to Bum as early as possible, so that they will have enough time to get "Likes" on Bum's Website. The 10 entries that get the most "Likes" get a chance to take home big prizes, including a Nikon D3000 DSLR Camera, Blackberry 3G phones, Samsung ES80 cameras, and tokens from Bum.

BUM Equipment Summer Collection and My Story Contest

BUM Equipment recently invited us to be in their 2nd Bloggers night which presented their 2011 collection and shared with us their exciting project on individuality, creativity and self expression and they called it “BUM Equipment My Story“.

The collection and the contest involves the My Story theme where one gets to express their sentiments, inner thoughts, and repressed emotions through clothes and personal style. B.U.M Equipments’ “My Story” project aims to give youth a creative outlet to establish their identities and created especially to let the youth’s sentiments, thoughts and emotions be heard.

If you are interested to join the contest all you have to do is buy any of the My Story collection clothes, take a picture of you wearing it, tell your story, and get a chance to win an Apple iPad2. B.U.M’s “My Story” project is open to boys and girls 13 years old and above and encourages the youth to express their passion, angst or opinion about who they are through fashion and photography.
